Happy Birthday Kate!

Consider this a long overdue post on our 1st little baby.  Kate turned 4 in January and I can't even imagine her being more of a dream.  Kate, I'm sorry this post is so late but I know you will appreciate the reasons why.  They include Workbooks, Go Fish, Crazy Eights, Little People, Princesses, Babies, Sidewalk chalk, and Mommy and Kate nap time.

The main reason this post is so late is that I have been trying hard to spend my afternoons engaged in quality time with my first little girl before baby 3 comes and boy have we been having fun.  Kate is such a sponge and soaks up all we get to teach her and everything she does in preschool.  She is a loving little girl and tells her sister things like, "Oh my little darling!" and is amazingly nurturing to her baby dolls.  Our baby boy is going to be a lucky guy!  Kate is a little bit of a hoarder and has all 11 of her baby dolls sleeping around her bed.  She is super organized and likes all her toys and babies just so.  When Megan messes them up she says, "Megan Linda you' re making me nervous!"  Kate is a champ at letter sounds, really progressing in reading moving from sight words to sounding out, and is now becoming an amazing adder.  It started as 4 plus 2, then she could do 6 plus 3, and now we can ask her 10 plus 6.  The other day she said to me, "Mom 10 plus 10 is 20!"  She has a great sense of direction when we are driving around and pretty much nothing gets past her.   Daddy and Kate's special activity of late has been baseball.  They practice it in the sun room and boy is Daddy a good teacher and boy is Kate a great hitter!  When Brian comes home Kate LOVES to grab her bat and practice.  Kate is such a sweet child and loves to snuggle at night.  She asks occasionally to go into the red bed (Mommy and Daddy's) because it just makes you feel so good.  I think we are the only parents in America who have a child that sleeps perfectly till morning in her own bed every night but sneak her into our bed on occasion.  Kate loves Sunday School and has an amazing faith that I can see spilling over into her sweet sweet personality.  She has a real love of cooking and it is something we really get to enjoy together.  Words can't even describe how sweet and good you are little bear!  We LOVE everything about you Kate!  You are a dream come true!
