So Cute...

Some adorable things about Megan...

Megan wanted something at the top of the pantry that I wouldn't get for her probably a treat of some kind, before breakfast, so she ran got her Dora figurine, came back to the pantry, and said, "Climb Dora Climb Dora, You can do it, Reach, Reach!"  Too Cute.
For some reason around the house a few months ago Megan was obsessed with eggs.  She wanted to hold and play with raw eggs.  I had no idea how she got so interested in them or why it would possible occur to her that we would let her actually play with one.  Her particular fetish made breakfast prep interesting.  A little while later we were on our weekly trip to Mariano's grocery store (which Megan pronounces absolutely adorably), when Megan must have grabbed an egg out of the carton at the top of the cart.  Now we were certainly winding down at this point in the grocery run and I must admit I was a little desperate so I let her continue to hold it.  As I was letting this all go down I was thinking to myself this may be the dumbest thing I have ever done, a 2 year old in the grocery store holding a raw egg.  I guess it speaks to the degree of my desperation.  Well a few moments into this potentially disastrous situation Megan starts giggling and speaking in her adorable voice with one of her ear to ear smiles, "Oh eggie, you are so cute, Don't worry baby birdie, I am an animal rescuer, I Meggie, this is my Mama, I will take care of you, So Cute."  I don't think I've ever seen something so cute and I think that story captures our Megan perfectly.   As I'm sure a few other 2 year old have done, she prompts desperation on one hand, but absolute joy on the other.  My little animal rescuer just wanted to care for the egg, how come I didn't get it?  We made it successfully through the checkout with Megan taking care of her egg just fine, and I think Megan got the egg thing out of her system with the hard boiled kind at Easter just a little while later.

Megan Loves Snuggling.  She loves to do it with Mommy most, but she has always been the snuggliest little girl as she demonstrates with her baby below.

Megan has had some respiratory issues this last month.  It started with RSV and was followed by a cold, a second cold that turned into a double ear infection that resulted in wheezing, doctor visits, an ER visit, lots of medicine, and a nebulizer that she uses for a regime of steroid and albuterol treatments to help her little lungs heal.  Megan generally does pretty good with them. It is not the most fun thing, but we try to make the time as enjoyable as possible.  Still often when we tell Meggie it is time for her treatment she says to us, "No No I don't like Treatment." The poor little girl hides, not that well with half her body exposed. I guess if she can't see us we can't see her, right?  I have to write this down in hopes I will always be able to hear her adorable voice in my mind.

Megan has also started successfully using the potty!  Yeah!  As long as she doesn't have a diaper on she will run to the potty and then demand a candy bracelet. It took a while for her to get that she actually had to go the bathroom to get a treat as opposed to just sitting on the toilet.  I find the potty training experience tougher than changing diapers especially being as pregnant as I am, but I know the mastery will be worth it and it will be great to have Megan on her way out of diapers as our new little one goes in.  The other day Megan was in her PJs diaperless when she says, " Oh no! Need Diaper! Hurry!"  She goes to the drawer I keep the diapers in, puts one on the floor, and tries to attach it to herself so she can go potty.  I'd say she's ready to be trained.  After a little resistance I directed her to the potty and she successfully went! She of course tries to pull all the toilet paper off the roll during the process, and makes an absolute mess while washing her hands, and refuses to leave when I try and turn off the water, making the whole process nothing but enjoyable, however, we are making great strides on the potty training front.

Megan LOVES Dress-Up!

She runs up to her sister's room and pulls on a new dress up outfit probably three times a day.  She say, "Look, I a ballerina princess, twirl, twirl.  I need glass slippers.  I need a crown. I need a magic wandie."

One of Megan's cutest lines lately has been, "I so punny!"  She really does love making us laugh and being the center of attention.  Megan doesn't do fs well so she replaces them with ps which creates some cute phrases, like Girapps at the zoo, por you or por me (for), and one of my favorites grobby (froggy). The last one comes complete with very realistic ribbiting and frog hopping around our house.  I have video below of her sweet little singing voice.
Megan you bring such fun to our lives.  Thanks Sweetheart!
