What We Did On Our Summer Vacation Part III NY

In August we made it back to see our NY family and as part of the trip spent the day in Lake Placid NY.  We climbed Mount Jo which overlooks most of the high peaks and Heart Lake at the base.
We made the trip with Brian's Dad, our 11 year old niece,Michaela, our 3 year old Kate, and 18mo old Megan on Brian's back.  It was quite an endeavor, but the views were more than worth it!

The reward on the way down, beautiful Heart Lake on summer evening in late August, absolutely picturesque.

Our crew heading out on the Adirondak Loj trail.

Brian, the strong Daddy with the 18 month old Megan on his back managed the 1 mile very vertical climb like a pro.

Michaela and Kate took turn being the leaders and were awesome on the entire trek!

A Trip to Lake Placid could never be complete without a stop at the Chapel Pond Overlook.  Brian and his family have been taking picture at this spot for years!

The trip also always includes time in the Town of Lake Placid and on Mirror Lake where Brian's parents honeymooned.  The cousins had a great time playing in the park, walking the downtown, and picking out some souvenirs.

A newer tradition is a stop at Tail O' The Pup for some dancing and great BBQ.

Great Fun was had by all!

What We Did On Our Summer Vacation Part II The Wisconsin Dells

Every year since I was a kid my family has gone up to Wisconsin for summer vacation. If possible I love it now even more that I can bring my own children. It is also very special because Brian's parents now join us, cousins, and my sister and her husband were able to bring little Jacob for the first time. We have an awesome time swimming, reading, cooking, having fires, visiting water parks, and all of our favorite attractions. The best part of course is all of the family time and the wonderful memories we will savor the entire winter! Some of my favorite memories...

What We Did On Our Summer Vacation Part I Mike and Stef's wedding

We have had a great and busy summer. Now that September has hit, cooler weather has rolled in, school is starting, and all the pools are closed I figured I do a catch up series of blog posts to capture our wonderful summer.

The biggest event of the summer was my brother Michael and his new wife Stefanie's awesome wedding. It was a beautiful day and we all had the honor of standing up in it, including Kate who was an adorable flower girl. Everyone, especially Stefanie, looked wonderful and we all had a great time dancing. Mike and Stefanie had an amazing first dance we will all remember. Kate showed off her "hockey" dance, and Meggie smiled and yelled cheese anytime she saw a camera. Above and Below are a few of my favorites and all of my pictures are in a photo album link at the end.

3 Year Old Preschool

Kate had her first day of 3 year old preschool today. She did wonderfully! We made it in to see Miss Cathy and her classroom earlier in the week and she was excited to find out she was now in the big girl class for 3 year-olds and not the 2 year-olds any more. It is amazing to me how much my little girl is growing and I am happy that she is adjusting so well. One of the fun perks for Kate is that she gets to see Daddy from time to time at school. That is a great thing for a true Daddy's Girl. Also important for the first day of school, a cute outfit, nice hairstyle, backpack - Tinkerbell, and new sneakers - pink and light-up.

Kate does wonderfully at school, she is very cooperative, and we couldn't be prouder of her!
