We are very excited to say that Baby Davies #3 is a boy! We had our ultrasound last week and found out most importantly the baby is healthy and growing, and were pleased to see that we will be equalizing the genders a little at the Davies house. To make a big splash for the gender reveal, we had a balloon drop for our family that was in town including Brian's parents, my parents, my siblings, their spouses, and my cousin. We blew up 24 blue balloons and put them in black bags so you couldn't tell the gender. We said, "Thanks for coming out to see what Baby Davies will be. We already have two girl, let's see if we'll have three." We opened the bags of balloons from our landing over the family room and let them fall. It was a special moment and one I want to remember forever.
During the girls' princess birthday party later that week, surveying the amounts of pink, princess, and bling in our house, I noted to Brian that things were going to have to change a lot in here to accommodate a boy. I think Brian and my brother had our little boy's baseball themed 1st birthday all but planned by the princess party's end, even though it is a good 16 months away!
I think it was great to find out the sex and give the girls and us some time to adjust. I can't wait to get started on the rooms. Kate was actually super disappointed the baby was a boy. She basically told us no, she wanted another baby girl. By the end of the night she was warmed up to the idea a little, and is doing much better with the news now. Kate claims she can see what the baby is doing through my belly button and says he has cute fingers. Megan has been giving my belly kisses and wanting to "see" the baby too. The other day she was telling the baby to come out! She also adorable said, "Hi Baby. I Meggie. This is my Mama." It just melts my heart. Lots of fun, lots of planning, and lots of excitement here this month!

Happy 2nd Birthday Megan!
Our little Megan has turned 2! It is hard to believe she is so big but it has been so much fun to watch her grow over the year. Megan is such such a sweet and good natured girl but at the same time can be very strong willed and demanding. We always say, "It's a good thing she's so cute." And she is so very very very cute.
Megan you have a fabulous smile and possibly the best laugh ever which we are blessed to hear a lot. You are such a chatty little girl and practically don't stop talking or moving all day. You love gross motor play and are starting to love little people and your Dora and Diego houses. Your favorite princess is Snow White, and your vocabulary is incredible and you have started singing us entire songs. I just love to hear you sing Jesus Loves Me. It is sometimes hard to keep up with you but you bring us great moments through the day. I never want to forget how cute it sounds when you say the words sister, snuggle, Mommy hold me, toy story, Merry Christmas, Hi I Meggie, or super babies. You are too smart for your own good sometimes. A constant theme of your life so far has been wanting to do everything Kate does and you make sure your are never left out. You really love your sister very much and it makes me us so happy to see you two playing together. You like Mommy and Me, swimming, Chuck E Cheese, and library story time, though you mostly like to try and climb the shelves at the library. You love routine and your night time books, especially Good Night Moon and Bear Hunt, and you are too cute at night when you choose a stuffed animal or baby to sleep with. You have always been a snugly, cuddly, and loving little girl and we absolutely cherish you!
On her actual birthday we had class at church so I made fruity cheerio birthday treats for Megan to pass out.
We sung happy birthday to her at Mommy and Me and at a small get together that night. Megan LOVED being the center of attention which she certainly deserves on her birthday!

Christmas Wrap up
A little snap shot of Christmas at the Davies house. Despite a killer flu that made it through the family Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, and the break that followed, it was a great time and the kids were adorable!
